Kim and Kanye Even LookGreat at Others' Weddings

0531_fish_kimkanyeAdmiit it, guys -- you are generally appreciative of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's fashion. You have to be. Despite any feelings you might have about them independently, or as a collective couple, you have to admit that they look so, so great most of the time, and even when they don't, their fashion still looks better than most of ours does on our very best day. Not even our prom dresses or graduation garb or maybe even wedding attire touches even their tracksuits or whatever when they're working out at the gym, and the above photo -- taken while heading to a friend's wedding -- is no exception.

Sigh. It's like some people just have all the luck. And money. And good looks. And amazing clothing.

See how they looked at their wedding. It's nearly as good as the top pic.

Man, his mother killed in septic tank phone search

A man and his mother both died trying to retrieve his wife’s new mobile phone from a toilet septic tank in China, reports said Friday, with four other people also entering the cesspit.
The woman dropped her new device — worth 2,000 yuan ($320) — in the open-pit toilet, reported Dahe, a web portal run by the Henan provincial government.
Her husband jumped in to try to locate the phone but was overcome by fumes and passed out, it said.
His mother went into the cesspit to try to help her son, but fainted herself, prompting the woman and then her father-in-law to enter in turn, the report said.
Two neighbours then followed the family into the septic tank, and were also overcome.
Villagers in Xinxiang, in central China, used ropes to retrieve the six people from the tank, which online images showed to be accessed via a metre-square brick-built hole.
The husband and mother-in-law both died, while the woman remained unconscious and the two neighbours were also ill, the report said.
“In five minutes, two lives have gone and my daughter-in-law is unconscious, leaving a half-paralysed elderly man and a one-year-old grandson,” the husband’s distraught uncle said, according to the web portal.
“How are we supposed to go on?”
The report did not specify whether the phone had been found.

Taye Taiwo’s beautiful home in Festac Town, Lagos, situated on 400 Road. The storey building parades two unmistakable black gates and also two beautiful pillars. It is surrounded by an electric fence, there are lights everywhere, which makes the house a beauty to behold at night. Well paved and enhanced with flowers, a peep into the compound revealed some exotic automobiles like Chrysler, G-Wagon Benz and Range Rover neatly tucked inside a car port. Said to have been completed years ago, the footballer who currently plays for Bursaspor F.C allegedly bought over the property that was there before for about N30 million and then renovated it to suit his taste; extracting this and including that along the line. In fact, nearly all the things used were said to have been imported from France.  A simple but sophisticated house, an estate valuer put the current cost at over N100m. Easy going and generous, neighbors say he jogs or cycles anytime he’s in town. “The guy is not arrogant. Anytime he’s around, he mixes well with people. He also assists his siblings, because whenever he’s in town, you see them trooping in and coming out with smiles on their faces. Three of his blood relations, two guys and a girl, live in the house and also take care of it.”

Pitt was at the El Capitan theater in Hollywood for the premiere of wife Angelina Jolie's new Disney flick "Maleficent" ... when a man suddenly jumped the fence and ran up to the actor while he was walking down the red carpet.

We're told the man actually made contact with Pitt's face before being nabbed by cops. It's unclear what the man's intentions were.

Law enforcement sources tell us the man was arrested by LAPD and booked for misdemeanor battery.

To VALUE a wedding gown

To adorn a wedding gown is the dream of many young ladies. While many achieve this and have a blissful wedding day out, others who could not get their men to wed them whine and make it an issue in marriage.
The variety of styles and details in modern wedding gowns make it almost unbearable not to be married adorning one. A wedding day for most young girls is like a fairytale story come true. Today, you can customize your wedding to accommodate all the things you’ve ever imagined to do for your wedding.
For Titi Johnson (not real names), it was also her dream to adorn a glamorous wedding gown until she found out that a two month old pregnancy was going to come between her and this dream she has nurtured for so long.
Pretty Titi was 32 years old when she found out she was pregnant with child. By the time she realised she was pregnant, she was almost two months gone. Although she had been dating Chidi (surname withheld) for about five years, he had never proposed to her but they’ve had a good relationship that friends and family treat them as an item.
As a vivacious, party loving and outgoing young lady, Titi was totally chattered by this development especially when she was faced with the early signs of pregnancy that totally threatened her robust social life. She was also confronted with how to break the news to Chidi as she didn’t want him to feel she was using the pregnancy to trap him into marrying her.
However, when eventually she summed up courage to tell, him, contrary to her expectation, Chidi took the news in his stride and saw it as a good reason to marry the love of his life and save Titi the shame of having a child outside wedlock. Within a week, Chidi had consulted with his family and the first leg of the wedding preparation was fixed for two weeks time.
Twelve years ago on a bright April afternoon, the wedding introduction was done and the wedding proper was fixed for June by which time, Titi would have been over four months gone.
From then on, every arrangement was fast tracked. The poor groom was everywhere trying to raise money to marry the girl of his dream but for the party-loving-bride, she had only one worry. How would she look in a wedding gown with a four month old pregnancy?
As the wedding plans progressed, so did this thought grow in the mind of Titi and the more she thought about it, the more the idea of a pregnant bride disgusted her. A diva like her would not walk down the isle in a distended tummy and in an unstylish dress.
She made up her mind to address the issue and the only way around it, was to get rid of that pregnancy! “Others would come” she had reasoned.
When she tabled the matter before Chidi, he was livid with rage and a big argument ensued. To him, the reason for the accelerated wedding was because of the pregnancy . He couldn’t understand why she was bringing this up at this time. Back and forth they argued but Titi would not shift her ground. Along with her conscience, she had the pregnancy terminated and it was explained that she lost the pregnancy.
The wedding turned out to be the dream wedding she wished for. She waltzed into church on a fine June morning in a form fitting lace wedding gown. It was the era of lilac and purple so her wedding scheme was obvious. Her make up was flawless, her bouquet well arranged and her train looked pretty in the short ball gown in the wedding colour. She was such a lovely bride that Chidi felt so proud at his choice. He beamed with smiles, his joy obvious to all the guests. The carefully planned reception crowned the activity for the day. A life band gave soul to the wedding party. Bot couple and guests had a good time dancing. There was no boring moment and as Chidi gave the vote of thanks, there was no doubt in the minds of the attendees that this new couple would live happily ever after.
And happily they did for the first one year of their marriage. It’s been 12 years since they got married and till date, there is yet to be heard the sound of the cry of a baby in that home. Although doctors can’t seem to find something wrong with her, she has been unable to conceive. In her quiet moment, a thought keeps playing on her mind. Is there a connection between the pregnancy she terminated and her present predicament? Could the hand of the Almighty be against her?
That Nigerians love fashion and are fashionable is not in doubt. A few people would do anything in the name of fashion but is it necessary? Should looks come before a life? Should a wedding gown take the place of a developing life?
Next time you are buying that shoe, bag or dress, pause to ask. Is anything precious suffering?

Manchester United owner Glazer dead – Offical

Manchester United owner Malcolm Irving Glazer (born May 25, 1928)  an American businessman and sports team owner  is dead, official said

Glazer
Malcolm Glazer, the owner of English Premier League giants Manchester United and American football team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, died Wednesday, it was announced.
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are saddened to announce the passing of Owner/President Malcolm Glazer earlier this morning at the age of 85,” a statement on the Buccaneers website said.
“A dynamic business leader, Glazer helped mold the Buccaneers into a model franchise and one respected league-wide.”
Glazer purchased Manchester United in 2005, controversially saddling the world famous club with hundreds of millions of dollars in debt in a leveraged buyout.
Glazer’s stewardship of United has coincided with a glut of silverware — including five Premier League crowns and the 2008 Champions League title — and has also been the subject of sustained anger from Manchester United’s fan base.
Fans have complained that Glazer’s ownership model has forced United to spend millions of pounds servicing the club’s debt — money which could have been spent on the transfer budget.
Glazer, 85, passed away early Wednesday, a statement on the Buccaneers website said.

$49.8bn oil fund: Sanusi lied – Senate

The Senate, yesterday, said that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi lied by saying that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, misapplied $49.8 billion accruing from crude oil sales. It said that only $20 billion or N3.26 trillion was missing.
It said that it could not see how Sanusi arrived at his allegations that the money was missing.
Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, PDP, Kaduna North, who made this known yesterday, said that contrary to Sanusi’s allegations, there was nothing like any unremitted $49. 8 billion.
This was contained in the report submitted by the committee at Senate plenary, yesterday.
Makarfi said that his committee made rigorous investigations into the allegation, but could not see how Sanusi arrived at the missing money.
CBN Gov, Sanusi and Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alison-Madueke
CBN Gov, Sanusi and Minister of Petroleum Resources, Alison-Madueke
“The committee could not see how the figure of $49.8billion was arrived at by the (former) CBN Governor in the first instance,” the Committee added.
It noted that the total crude oil liftings between January 2012 and July 2013 was $67 billion and not $65 billion as the suspended CBN Governor alleged.
“There was nothing like unremitted $49.8 billion. All the agencies-CBN, NNPC, Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources had agreed after reconciliation meetings that $47 billion out of the $67 billion had been credited to the Federation Account. The amount to be accounted for, therefore was $20 billion,” the committee observed.
Sanusi had claimed in his letter to President Goodluck Jonathan that $49.8 billion from crude oil revenue was missing, prompting nationwide outrage.
However, the Makarfi Committee’s report cleared the NNPC and the Ministry of Petroleum of any shady deals and directed the NNPC and the Ministry of Finance as well as other relevant agencies to reconcile another $300 million.
The committee observed that $ 5.254 billion PMS subsidy claims certified by the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, as part of the $20 billion to be accounted for was adequately covered by the Appropriation Acts of 2012 and 2013.
The committee’s report further noted that the “CBN Governor at the first hearing had put forward the figure of $12 billion as monies to be reconciled and changed his position to $20 billion at subsequent hearing. In the conclusion of his written submission, that it could be $20 billion, $12 billion, $10.8 billion or anything in between, the CBN Governor orally or in writing never outrightly submitted that monies were missing but that monies were not remitted to the Federation Account by the NNPC.
The report further recommended the immediate passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) as the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke continues to sanitise the industry.
It equally recommended the abolition of subsidy regime, saying, “there is the need for the subsidy regime to be totally discontinued with.
“All stakeholders should be consulted and carried along as much as possible before abolishing the subsidy,” it added.

President Democracy Day Speech

Fellow Nigerians,

1.I greet and felicitate with you all, today, as we mark 15 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in our beloved country.
2.Our dear nation, Nigeria, has certainly come a long way and made notable progress since our first Democracy Day on May 29, 1999 when the military finally relinquished power and handed over to a democratically-elected government, marking the true beginning of a government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
President Goodluck Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan
3.Although I have ordered a low-key commemoration of this year’s Democracy Day in deference to the current mood of the nation, there can be no doubt that the past 15 years, the longest period of sustained democratic governance in our country, have been a blessing to us, as a people.
4.As we commemorate 15 years of our Fourth Republic today therefore, I believe that it is fitting that we pay tribute once again to all those who played a part in restoring our nation to the true path of democratic governance, built on the foundations of rule of law and freedom of expression.
5.As a result of our collective efforts since 1999, democratic governance is now entrenched in our nation and institutions. I wholeheartedly believe that our people are the better for it. The scope of fundamental rights and liberties enjoyed by our people over the past 15 years has been expanded beyond measure.
6.On my watch, we have witnessed high national economic growth rates, steady improvements and expansion of national infrastructure including airports and roads, the restoration of rail transportation, the efficient implementation of a roadmap for improved power supply, a revolutionary approach to agricultural production, as well as advances in education, sports, youth development, healthcare delivery, housing, water supply and other social services.
7.In the oil and gas sector, our promotion of a sustainable local content policy, continues to guarantee equity and better opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs and skilled personnel.
8.Significant increase in mobile telephone and national broadband penetration, making Information and Communications Technology (ICT) one of the fastest growing sectors of the Nigerian economy. We have also developed strong financial markets and regulatory institutions. Our banks now have regional and global footprints.
9.Nigeria has also gained recognition as the largest economy in Africa, the most preferred investment destination in the continent and in terms of returns on investment, the fourth in the world. We are pleased that the world has noticed, as global leaders converged in Abuja early this month for the World Economic Forum in Africa.
10.The event not only witnessed a record attendance, it brought the prospect of an additional flow of investment into the Nigerian economy estimated at over $68 billion over the next few years.
11. In foreign relations, our country has equally done well within this period, by establishing and strengthening strong partnerships with all ECOWAS countries and the rest of the world. This has helped to deepen Nigeria’s leadership role in multilateral institutions including the United Nations.
12.Furthermore, under this administration, we have made consistent progress in improving the standard of elections in our country to ensure that they are ever more credible and truly representative of the people’s free choice. The National Conference we initiated to deliberate and make recommendations on the best ways of resolving our current political and socio-economic challenges is on-going. It is our expectation that its outcomes will help to further consolidate the gains we have made from democracy in the past 15 years, and place our dear nation even more firmly on the path to greatness.
Dear Compatriots,
13.It is a sad fact that as I address you today, all the gains of the past 15 years of democratic governance in our country are threatened by the presence of international terrorism on our shores. Our dear country, Nigeria is facing a new challenge. A war has been unleashed on us. Extremist foreign elements, collaborating with some of our misguided citizens, are focused on an attempt to bring down our country and the democracy and freedom we cherish and celebrate today.
14. The despicable abduction of school girls from Chibok in Borno State has brought to the awareness of the entire world, the heartless brutality of these terrorists who want to instigate a descent into anarchy and balkanize our nation.
15.In recent years, terrorist attacks have claimed the lives of several of our compatriots, many have been injured or maimed, whole villages and communities have been destroyed and the economy of some of our states is in jeopardy.
16.There can be no doubt that what we are witnessing in Nigeria today is a manifestation of the same warped and ferocious world view that brought down the Twin Towers in New York, killed innocent persons in Boston and led to the murder of defenceless people in the Southern Russian city of Volgograd. Terrorist activities have brought war and pains to Mali, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan. These agents of evil continue to brainwash and incite ignorant young men and women to attack the innocent. We cannot allow this to continue.
17.I welcome the statements of solidarity from patriotic citizens and the global community in support of our efforts to stamp out terrorism. I applaud the understanding that in a democracy, such as we are building, people can have differences while sharing worthy values and standing together in opposition to the scourge of terrorism. Nigeria is the only country we have and we must all work to preserve it for present and future generations.
18.Despite the challenges we face, we must commend our security forces. We must not forget their gallantry and successes in liberating nations and in peacekeeping, from Liberia to Sierra Leone, Congo, Sudan, Mali, Guinea-Bissau and many places in Africa and beyond. Our forces have paid the supreme price in several places at several times.
19.Today, they face a different challenge, an unconventional war by terrorists. They are adjusting and are being equipped to tackle the new menace of terrorism. We must show confidence in their ability. I have no doubt that, with the support of Nigerians, our neighbours and the international community, we will reinforce our defence, free our girls and rid Nigeria of terrorists.
20.It is now 45 days since the horrifying abduction of the college girls of Chibok. I share the deep pain and anxiety of their parents and guardians and I assure them once again that government will continue to do everything possible to bring our daughters home.
21.I am determined to protect our democracy, our national unity and our political stability, by waging a total war against terrorism. The unity and stability of our country, and the protection of lives and property are non-negotiable. I have instructed our security forces to launch a full-scale operation to put an end to the impunity of terrorists on our soil.
22.I have also authorized the security forces to use any means necessary under the law to ensure that this is done. I assure you that Nigeria will be safe again, and that these thugs will be driven away – it will not happen overnight, but we will spare no effort to achieve this goal.
23.For our citizens who have joined hands with Al Qaeda and international terrorists in the misguided belief that violence can possibly solve their problems, our doors remain open to them for dialogue and reconciliation, if they renounce terrorism and embrace peace.
24.My government, while pursuing security measures, will explore all options, including readiness to accept unconditional renunciation of violence by insurgents, and to ensure their de-radicalization, rehabilitation and re-integration into the broader society.
Dear Compatriots,
25.We must remain united to win the war against terrorism. Christians, Moslems, farmers, fishermen, herdsmen, teachers, lawyers, clergy or clerics, the rich, the poor and Nigerians from all sections of the country must work together with our security agencies and armed forces to overcome the terrorists who now threaten all that we hold dear.
26.The war against terror may be difficult, but the days of peace will come again. Terror is evil; nowhere in history has evil endured forever. The menace of Boko Haram will surely come to an end. I believe that because of your prayers, your courage, hardwork, faith and sacrifice, we will ultimately prevail over the terrorists and all other evil forces.
27.We are a strong, resilient and courageous people. We will continue to partner with the civilized world, to confront international terrorism and every other challenge that comes our way with patriotic zeal and determination.
Fellow Nigerians,
28.Yes, we have challenges but we will surely overcome. Nigeria is our country. Nigeria is blessed. We will all collectively protect, defend and develop this country for ourselves, and our children.
29. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
30. Thank you and God bless Nigeria.

Elderly citizens to enjoy free medical service – Ajimobi

Citizens who are 65 years and above will soon start enjoying free medical service in Oyo State, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi has said.
The governor stated this when he received leaders of the Seventh Day Adventist Church led by Pastor Oyeleke Owolabi in his office on Monday.
He said other categories of people would also have the opportunity of visiting designated hospitals for free medical treatment.
According to him, the services are part government’s comprehensive health insurance scheme the government planned to launch soon.
“The scheme, which will be the first of its kind in the state, is part of government’s determination to make the people live a healthy and longer life,” he said.
Ajimobi said the government also planned to introduce a scheme whereby students would enjoy free food and would be given free uniforms to improve the quality of education in the state.
He commended the Seventh Day Adventist Church for its service to humanity, noting that it had always been at the forefront of social, economic, intellectual and moral development of the state.
Ajimobi said the government was committed to maintaining the culture of obedience, decency and integrity with a view to discouraging impunity.
“This administration has been able to restore peace and security, as well as transform the state through its urban renewal programme.
“We have encouraged the culture of Godliness, decency, integrity, and obedience to eliminate the culture of impunity,’’ he said.
Earlier, Owolabi lauded the state government’s urban renewal programme and the religious liberty enjoyed by the people.
He pledged the church’s readiness to collaborate with the government in its efforts to develop the state, particularly in the areas of education and health. (NAN)

Adeboye denies cursing pastor for remarrying

GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, yesterday, warned mischief- makers who had capitalised on perceived frosty relationship between him and a  former pastor of his church, declaring that he did not curse Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.
Speaking publicly for the first time on the controversial exit of the former pastor of Christ Church Parish of RCCG, who was suspended from the pulpit after as second marriage to former beauty queen, the RCCG helmsman warned those he described as trouble-makers to desist from such acts.
Addressing worshippers at the Redemption Camp on the  Lagos-Ibadan Expressway at the end of the November edition of the Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Adeboye acknowledged that there was a little disagreement between the church and Ighodalo over certain doctrinal differences, but said he had no quarrel with him.
According to him,  Ighodalo left the church a few months ago to establish his own ministry, as a result of that doctrinal disagreement, but he remains “a wonderful man of God. Ituah is my son and he remains my son.”
He said he was making the clarifications to dispel rumours making the rounds that he had placed a curse on the chartered accountant who remarried two years ago after efforts to bring his first wife to join him in Nigeria failed 10 years after their wedding in the UK.”
Ighodalo  was suspended early this year, two years after his marriage to former beauty queen, Ibidunni Ajayi, in  Ibadan because, according to sources, he had by that action contravened the church’s doctrines and laid down doctrine of not remarrying.
He remained an ordinary member of the church until last July when he decided to establish his own ministry, Trinity House.

Nigeria Police Force needs no less than 6.5 million Policemen.

Former Minister and delegate at the ongoing National Conference, Professor Jerry Gana has disclosed that the Nigeria Police Force is totally inadequate and below the United Nations standard and the country needs no less than 6.5 million Policemen.
Gana who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Minna after the dedication of the new Cathedral Church of St. Peter, Minna on Sunday also praised the Nigeria Army saying it is one of the best in the world.
According to him “the Nigeria Police Force needs to recruit more men to increase its ranks as the current number of the men are not enough to secure the lives and properties of the people in the country.
“To our amazement at the National Conference, we were told that throughout the federal Republic of Nigeria, we have less than 400, 000 men in the police force, that is so inadequate for a nation of 170 million people.
“By UN standard, we should have about 6.5 million police at the average of one policeman to 400 people but for now, we have less than 400,000 which is not even up to a million which is totally unacceptable, it is not even up to a million.
“At the national conference, we are coming up with the suggestion that we need to have more men in the police, well trained, well organised and well documented.”
He expressed confidence that if given the chance, the Nigerian Army can defeat the Boko Haram sect and that the invitation of the international community to help out in the war is because the army is careful not to commit any crime against humanity urging Nigerians to understand with the army and government.
He said “the problem we are facing is a serious problem because the enemy you do not know may even be next door or even in your pocket.
“The Nigeria security forces especially our army is one of the best in the world, Nigeria army is one of the best peacekeeping army in the world, we should be proud of our army. We should recognise that the Nigeria Army has done well but we are not fighting against that kind of armed insurgency, this is something different, this is not army versus another army, it is an army versus an army we cannot see.
“The army have to operate now so that they will not commit crime against humanity. The Nigerian Army, if they use their might, they can level the whole forest in Nigeria in a day but they cannot do that against their own people, this is why it is important to know that it is not a failure of the army to invite international forces.”
He also expressed optimism that the kidnapped Chibok girls would be released soon, “by the Grace of God, the girls would be rescued soon, we only fear that they are being used for protection because right now, we don’t knkw their exact location, that is why the army ca not just bombard the forest. We need to be extremely careful for the sake of the girls.”
Professor Gana then assured Nigerians that the National Conference would try to recommend solutions to the serious problems facing the country stressing that the protection of the lives and properties of Nigerians are top most in the mind of the delegates at the conference and they would ensure that they come up with recommendations that would ensure the safety of every Nigerian.

ASUU to have a foundation in Iyayi’s honour

IYAYI

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will establish foundation in honour of the late Prof. Festus Iyayi.
This was contained in the resolution released at the end of ASUU’s NEC meeting held at the University of Ibadan on Monday and signed by its National President, Dr. Nasir Fagge.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Iyayi, a former National President of the union, died in November 2013 in a car crash.
He was travelling to Kano to participate in the union’s NEC meeting called to resolve the six months strike by the union.
The union in the resolution also resolved to name its national secretariat located at the University of Abuja after the late activist.
According to the resolution, the foundation will have components which include scholarship awards for indigent students.
The resolution also condemned the imposition of fees on students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun
The union in the resolution directed its members in OAU to ensure the reversal of the new fees which it described as a violation of ASUU’s standing principle.
University education must be seen as public good.
The unity, security and development of our country depend   on the quality and effectiveness of our university education,’’ it said.

Abducted girls located- CDS

Almost six weeks after their abduction, the military has located where the female students of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, are.
This was disclosed on Monday by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Marshal Alex Badeh while discussing with members of the Citizens Initiative for Security Awareness outside the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
The CDS however said the military has refused to employ force to release the girls so that they would not be killed by their abductors.
“We want our girls back, we want our girls back; we can do it, our military can do it but where they are held, can we go with force?
“If we go with force, what will happen? (they will kill them). So nobody should come and say the Nigerian military does not know what it is doing. We know what we are doing, we can’t go and kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back. So we are working.
“The good news for the girls is that we know where they are but we cannot tell you, we cannot come and tell you military secrets here. Just leave us alone, we are working, we would get the girls back.”

Chibok Updates!!!!!!!delegate suggests exchanging prisoners chibok girls release

With about 234 Government Girls’ secondary school, Chibok, Borno State still being held hostage for the past 42days after their abduction by Boko Haram, an elder statesman and one of the 492 delegates to the on-going National Conference, Dr. Kunle Olajide has appealed to the federal government to accede to the condition given by the insurgent for their release.

Boko Haram had in a recent video tape released by their leader, Abubakar Shekau, said the condition for the release of the girls was for the government to set free members and family members of the Boko Haram being held in prisons by the government.

Reacting to a question on the way out of the logjam, Olajide told THISDAY that “Chibok is a product of long years of mis-governance and misrule; misapplication of resources, wastage and corruption. Chibok saga is a product of the menace that has been long-standing in this country,.

Olajide, a federal government nominee to the conference said, “as far as am concerned, I will be prepared to swap anything that is swappable for the release of these innocent girls. I will swap the most hardened criminal for these innocent girls to be freed. I will trade off anything possible for these girls to be released.”

Reminded that there were claims that government didn’t know the terroeis  Olajide retorted: “Of course we know them. Government has negotiated with them before. There is the Turaki’s Committee; Olusegun Obasanjo had visited them before. Sanni of recent was a link person and of course too, my own friend Datti Ahmed has been the major link. We know them.

“They are human beings from Nigeria and without being labeled, I want to say that some of Northern leaders too know them very well because I have not even seen some of them criticising them vigorously (except very few of these leaders); so for me, I will trade off anything to make sure that these innocent girls are released to their parents. You can imagine the level of trauma.”

On the Yoruba agenda to the conference, which centered on regionalism, Olajide was optimistic that there would be light at the end of the tunnel, stressing that, “we are making progress with Yoruba agenda. Even the restructuring committee made states as federating units as against regionalism that we are advocating and they have made allowance in their report that states willing to merge can do so and that states willing to collaborate can be made to have a coordinating unit like the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN). The ultimate agenda of Yoruba’s is regionalism because that was our golden era in Yoruba land.”

He added: “For us in Yoruba land, the ideal thing is regionalism, but of course we must not be too rigid because if any zone says it would be too rigid, we won’t go anywhere,” he added.

So, it is a matter of give and take. The preponderance of Yoruba people want regionalism in such a way that power would be devolved from the centre to the region's

behind-the-scenes pics of Kimye's big robust celebrity wedding

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are officially "Bound" to each other.
The celebrity couple, who have made a habit of over-the-top, public displays of affection, got hitched Saturday in a decidedly private spot: a Renaissance fortress in Florence.

The nuptials were confirmed to The Associated Press by Kardashian's representative, who noted the reporting of E! Online, the news site from the network that carries her reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

E! Online reported the wedding party consisted of her sisters, while stepfather Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle. Andrea Bocelli and John Legend sang for the couple at the reception.
The city's mayor's office had said a week earlier that the couple had rented Belvedere Fort for a wedding to be performed by a Protestant minister, adding a flurry of excitement in the entertainment world about the ceremony, which had been anticipated for months.

In the days before the nuptials, the pair held court in Paris, parading in front of photographers for pre-wedding festivities. Kardashian posted a picture on the social media site Instagram of the gardens of fashion designer Valentino's 17th-century Chateau de Wideville west of Paris, where one of their events was being held. The couple also toured the Chateau of Versailles.

The family arriving in Florence:

The duo, who have one child together, were not shy about their romance; he briefly appeared on her reality show, and he gushed about his love for her in a talk show hosted by her mother, Kris Jenner. A topless Kardashian also starred in his music video for "Bound 2," in which they simulated having sex on a motorcycle bike.
West, 36, proposed to Kardashian, 33, in October on her birthday. He rented out San Francisco's AT&T Park to pop the question.
But when it came to the wedding, media was only able to get photos of the many celebrity guests at the wedding.
Among the notables sighted arriving in Florence ahead of the nuptials were Steve McQueen, director of Oscar-winner "12 Years a Slave"; Lala Anthony, wife of NY Knicks basketball star Carmelo Anthony; Jaden Smith, the actor and teenage son of Will and Jada Smith; and Joe Francis of "Girls Gone Wild" video fame.
The nuptials drew crowds of fans eager to witness the glitzy event, but they were kept far away from the heavily-walled 16th century fortress, which offers stunning views of Florence and surrounding Tuscan hills.

Behind the scenes at the venue:

The rapper was recently quoted in the Florence newspaper La Nazione as saying he and Kardashian had come here previously incognito and he believed that their daughter, North, was conceived "among the Renaissance masterpieces." The baby was born in June 2013.
It is the first marriage for West, and the third for Kardashian. Her last marriage, to professional basketball player Kris Humphries, in 2011, lasted 72 days. That ceremony was featured in a two-part TV special.
The city's mayor's office last week had said that the $420 000 rental fee for the fort would help fund restorations of Florence's art treasures.

Rob bails on Kim’s wedding and flies back to L.A. in tears!

It seems like Brody Jenner wasn't the only Kardashian-Jenner family member not in attendance at Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kanye West.

Also missing from the festivities was Kim's younger brother Rob, 27, who bailed on the ceremony at the last minute.

A source confirmed to Us Weekly that Rob flew out of Paris, France, on Saturday morning a few hours ahead of his sister's much buzzed-about nuptials in Florence, Italy.

According to TMZ Rob booked a flight from Florence to L.A in a hurry and was apparently in tears while desperately trying to secure a seat.
