RICK ROSS ARRESTED IN NORTH CAROLINA

Rick Ross was arrested in North Carolina last night ... all because cops say he BLEW OFF a court date stemming from a weed arrest in town last year.

The Boss was taken into custody by the Greensboro Police Department late Friday night ... right after his performance at SuperJam 2014 at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Officials say there had been a warrant out for Ross -- because he never showed up to court to deal with a marijuana arrest in Greensboro back in 2013 ... so, when he came back to N.C., cops pounced.

We're told Ross was cooperative with police -- and has since been released from custody after posting bail.

Weed -- maybe it really does affect memory?

I’m a virgin, I know nothing about sex! —Seyi Hunter

When Afro-pop singer, Adokiye declared she was avirgin in a chat with Vanguard’s Potpourrirecently, many thought she couldpossibly be the last of the virgins in the Nigerian entertainment industry. But it seems there are others, at least one other, as another entertainer, Seyi Hunter has come out to declare she is a virgin as well.
Seyi-Hunter-Pix-2A Performing Arts, Industrial and Labour Relations’graduate from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Seyi, born of an Igbo father and Akwa-Ibom mother, started out her career in the Yoruba sector and has since featured in close to twenty films in both Yoruba and English language movies.
In this interview with Showtime Celebrity, the wave-making actress talks about her career, passion, secrets and fears, among other issues:
When and how did you start acting professionally?
I started acting in 2011. I entered the industry through Funsho Adeolu. I met him at a movie location.
What has been your experience since you started?
It’s been tough. But with God on my side, I’ve been able to achieve a lot within the short period I’ve been in the industry.
Which movies have you done?
Broken Fixtures, Pain, Many Days-One day, My Club, MM Girls, Insanity, etc. TheYoruba movies include Rukayat, Alenibare, etc.
Since you do both the Yoruba and English genre of Nollywood movies, which would you say is better and has been most favourable to you?
The English movies have been really favourable to me. The threelead roles I’ve played are in English movies. I usually play minor roles in the Yoruba movies. If I were to assess both sectors, I’d say they are both good and that’s why I’m doing both.
What challenges do you encounter as an upcoming actress in the industry?
The truth is they don’t really pay us well as upcoming actresses. Another challenge is getting roles. Though for me, God has been faithful. When I go to any location or for a production, I get another job from that one. It’s as if one job gives birth to another. So far, people I’ve met are people who want to help me, who are willing to stick their necks out for me. People like Collins Onwochei, Chico Ejiro, Damijo Efe Young, Funsho Adeolu and others.
What would you say is your selling point?
(Laughs) Look at me now. It’s not as if I’m so endowed physically. I’m just one humble girl next door. Favour is my selling point.
If you could change anything in the industry, what would that be?
It’s the practice of not paying or appreciating new actresses. They feel that because you’re upcoming, they are doing you a favour by featuring you in the movie. That’s one trend I’d like to change. I have told myself that whatever production I do, everyone must be paid as long as you worked on that set, you should be paid for it. Besides that, I think Nollywood has improved a lot.
What would you have been, if you weren’t an actress?
I think probably a dancer. I used to dance and then I stopped and started acting. So, I would have been dancing or modelling if I wasn’t acting. I love to entertain, so I would still be in the entertainment industry. The truth is I’ve always wanted to act, though I started as a dancer.
What’s your view on pornography in the industry?
So far I’ve not done any pornographic movie and I’ve not gotten any pornographic script.
What if you were asked to, would you?
Let that time come first. When I get to that bridge, I would cross it.
Can you go nude in a movie?
I can’t go stark nude in any movie. I can’t even strip naked in front of any body.
Would you have sex in a movie?
We don’t have real sex in movies, it’s make-believe, we don’t do the real thing. I can kiss, smooch and touch. It’s my job, there’s nothing to it and it ends there, it doesn’t go beyond the camera.
Would you date a guy in the industry?
I can if I meet the right person.
How important is money to you when it comes to your choice of man?
I’m not lookingfor a stinkingly rich man. If he has allthe money without good attributes, then he’s not for me. I like humblepeople. So, he has to be humble, God-fearing, extremely nice, very romantic and loving.
Define your fashion style?
I’m just an ordinary person when it comes to fashion. I wear things I’m comfortable in, I don’tfollow trends. As long as it suits me and I’m comfortable in it, I go with it.
Can you talk about the Children’s Day Party you recently organised?
It was actually thebrainchild of my company, Hunter’s Media. It’s a partnership firm I run. I had always wanted to do things for children because my growing up wasn’t rosy.
I lost my dad at a very tender age, my mum was a housewife and I had a lot of sibling. My adopted baby sister died when she was just eleven months old. It really affected me a lot because I practically took care of her and she died in my arms after being admitted in the hospital for three months.
That incident shook me a lot and I was just 15 at the time. That was part of the motivation for the Children’s Day Party. And I love children a lot. This event is going to give birth to an NGO and we will be organising it yearly for special kids. That was the initial plan, but I’ve started making enquiries on how to interact with special kids so that I can relate with them without a third party.
Are you planning to go into movie production like some of your colleagues are doing?
Yes, my media company is into film production, documentary, rental of equipment, modelling and photography. I’m presently taking a photography course.
How do you unwind?
I’m basically an indoorperson. I hardly go out, but once in a while, my friends and colleagues drag me out. I just like to read novels and watch movies.
What was your childhood like?
My childhood was fun. I grew up in a polygamoushome. I had a lot of brothers and sisters, so it was a full house. I grew up in Surulere.
Educational Background?
My primary and secondary education were in Surulere. Then, I had my university education at the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State where I studied Performing Arts.

Where do you hope to be in the nearest future?
I hope that my media company alongside my NGO will grow bigger. I can’t even picture how big it is, because it is bigger than my imagination. I hope to see myself at the top soonest, by God’s grace.
Who in the industry do you hope to be like?
My name is Seyi Hunter. There’s only one me, so I want to be me. I admire my colleagues, they are good and beautiful. They are super role models and I love them.

Which top actors have you worked with?
I’ve worked with Tonto Dike, Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Aimakun, Funsho Adeolu, Collins Onwochei and others.

What was your first time on set like?
The movie was a Yoruba movie, Aromodomo. It was shot in Ibadan. I was a bit nervous at first and Funsho Adeolu was the one who encouraged me. He told me to imagine I was in a theatre hall about to have a stage play with my colleagues. That was how I was able to flow.

What’s the most challenging role you’ve played so far?
Broken Fixtures, where I had to kiss and romance. The role I played in My Club was also challenging because I had to drink and smoke, which I don’t do in real life.
Is there a role you would turn down?
As long as I’m not required to have actual sex, I can’t turn down any role.

Who’s your ideal man?
My ideal man is someone who is God-fearing, understands me and my job, someone who is loving and extremely caring. He also has to be nice to a fault.
Are you in a relationship?
Yes. I was attracted to him because of the fact that he’s born again, spoils me with gifts and puts my needs before his own.
Sex and money, which is more important to you in a relationship?
I know nothing about sex, I’m a virgin. Money is more important to me in a relationship.

I have no Facebook account – Ekweremadu

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, said on Sunday in Abuja warned the public not to deal with any Facebook account bearing his name.
This is contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Uche Anichukwu.
The statement noted that any Facebook account bearing Ekweremadu’s name was created by impostors.
“The attention of the Office of the Deputy President of the Senate has been drawn to the activities of impostors who open Facebook accounts in the name of the deputy senate president.
“Ekweremadu has no Facebook account and anyone dealing with or communicating with anyone who claims to be the Deputy President of the Senate on any matter is certainly doing so at his or her or risk.
“The person is obviously dealing with fraudsters whose intent is to engage in shady deals and defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” it said.
The statement, therefore, warned members of the public not to have anything to do with any of such Facebook accounts.
It said the accounts “absolutely has nothing to do with Ekweremadu or the Office of the Deputy Senate President.’’ (NAN)

INSURGENCY: Enugu Churches screen worshippers

AS part of efforts to forestall attack on the church by Boko Haram insurgents who are feared to have invaded the South Eastern states, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu, yesterday, conducted thorough screening of its members before allowing them into the Sunday services.
The church also banned  women from entering with hand-bags as part of the security measures.
Some Pentecostal churches within Enugu have also procured bomb detecting equipment with which they screened vehicles driven by worshippers into the premises of the churches within the state capital. Some churches have constructed iron barricades to prevent insurgents from hitting the church buildings with their vehicles.
The extra security measures by the churches, according to the church leaders, came on the heels of the recent discovery of two bombs in the Winners’ Chapel in Owerri, Imo State, which were diffused by  police bomb experts.
The arrest of more than 400 insurgents at Aba, Abia State, by soldiers who alleged that two other buses containing suspected insurgents that fateful night successfully escaped has further increased the anxiety among the people of the South East over the presence of insurgents in the zone.
The Bishop of Enugu Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Calistus Onaga, was said to have directed all parish priests within the Diocese to make the official announcement regarding the ban on female worshippers coming into the churches with handbag, during Sunday services
The bishop, who appealed to the church members to cooperate with the ushers and security men charged with maintaining security in the churches, explained that the exercise was not meant to embarrass the women or anybody, but borne out of the present disturbing insecurity challenges facing the nation.
He assured that the security measures would be carried out with human face, and in a civilised manner, adding that the church did not want to  take chances.
A worshipper who do not want his name in print said, “I must tell you, the Bishop and entire Catholic faithful in Enugu, are apprehensive with the rumour of the insurgents infiltrating the east, especially the alleged recent escape of two buses conveying Boko Haram members in Abia state, during a security check.
“I support the development that henceforth, women will no longer be allowed to enter Catholic churches during masses with hand bags, apart from their purses, which will also be subjected to thorough scrutiny by church workers.
“Before today’s announcement was made, our Bishop had already briefed all the parish priests under the Diocese, so that they can take the message down to their various parishes.
“Though, we known that if God did not guard a city, guard men will be guarding in vein; but there is also need for us as human beings to play our own part, while God plays his own part”.
It was also observed in some of the Pentecostal churches within Enugu capital visited yesterday that the worshippers were subjected to thorough security screening by the internal security men of the churches while some churches were being guarded by armed policemen.
Both cars and handbags were searched to ensure that no bomb was smuggled into the church while the premises were patrolled regularly to forestall attacks by insurgents who might target the places of worship.

Brazil beat Chile on penalties to reach World Cup quarters

Hosts Brazil qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals after beating Chile on penalties in a thrilling last 16 match in Belo Horizonte on Saturday.
The Brazilians won 3-2 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
Brazil opened the scoring with the goal that FIFA awarded to David Luiz, though it appeared to come off Chile defender Gonzalo Jara’s knee. Chile hit back through Alexis Sanchez.
Brazil striker Hulk had a goal chalked off for handball while Mauricio Pinilla hit the crossbar for Chile late in extra-time.
The penalty shootout saw each side’s fortunes see-saw until Neymar put the hosts 3-2 up leaving Jara to take the decisive one to keep Chile in the tie.
However, his terrible day climaxed as his penalty hit the post and flew across the face of the goal sending the Brazilians into raptures.

Emenike’s long walk to World Cup stardom

Emmanuel Emenike travelled a long road to get to Brazil, at times even on foot, and once stopping at a Turkish cell, but he made it to the World Cup.
It was a close run thing and there were times when such a scenario seemed more than just unlikely.
Yet at 27 years of age, Emenike will lead the line for Nigeria against France in the World Cup last 16 on Monday.
It was his goal against Malawi in a 2-1 World Cup qualification victory, following a brief international exile, that helped Nigeria through to the play-off round in which they ousted Ethiopia.
Emenike had then done enough to earn not just a place in Sephen Keshi’s squad but also his starting line-up.
A year ago that had seemed unlikely after Emenike, suffering from a groin problem that regularly kept him off the pitch, had a row with both Keshi and the Nigerian Football Association (NFA).
Emenike publicly rebuked both for their lack of interest in his injury issues and was subsequently kicked out the team, missing the Confederations Cup.
That was both a huge blow and an untimely one, coming so soon after his starring role at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, in which he finished joint top scorer, alongside Ghana’s Wakaso Mubarak, as Nigeria won the title.
Out in the cold, that could have spelt the end of the line for Emenike at international level but Keshi needed him and a recall came for the crucial Malawi match.
His goal helped change Nigeria’s destiny and ensured his own tortured path to the World Cup would at last end in joy.
The long road began at Delta Force in the town of Asaba in the Niger Delta, where Emenike faced a 90-minute round trip on foot just to get to training and back.
Although if there was one positive omen, it was that he trained at the Jay Jay Okocha stadium, named after one of the country’s greatest ever midfielders.
At 20, Emenike headed to South Africa and the professional game to try his luck with first Mpumalanga Black Aces and then Ajax Cape Town.
He caught the attention of European spies and a move to Turkish outfit Karabukspor ensued, where he notched 30 goals in 50 games, winning the second division title in his first season.
But the controversies began when a Turkish tabloid accused him of being older than was claimed, and Emenike sued.
Istanbul giants Fenerbahce came calling but that dream move soon turned sour as Emenike was embroiled in a match-rigging scandal that saw his club banned from European football for a year.
Emenike was accused of involvement in match-fixing and even spent a night at a police station for questioning.
Fenerbahce found a quick-fix solution to the problem and sold the Nigerian to Spartak Moscow in Russia, before he played a match.
But there Emenike was the victim of racist abuse and even served a ban for responding to his tormentors with an ill-advised hand-gesture towards fans of Dinamo Moscow.
Two years after arriving in Moscow he was acquitted of any wrong-doing back in Turkey due to lack of evidence, and he made a triumphant return to Fenerbahce, winning the Turkish Super Lig in his first season.
Now, not only is he back and playing in a World Cup knock-out round but rumours would have it that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is an admirer and lining up a bid.
It’s been a long road for Emenike but he’s probably starting to think it’s been worth it

Goodnews !!!!! Oshodi-Apapa Expressway 65% completed

The Engineer in charge of the reconstruction of the Oshodi/Apapa Expressway in Lagos, Mrs Adigom-Vivienne Aniagoh, on Saturday said that the project had reached 65 per cent completion.
Aniagoh told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the contractor, Julius Berger, was working on various sections of the project simultaneously to facilitate completion.
“We are working on various sections at the same time; we do that to manage traffic properly.
“We can work on four, five, six locations or more at the same time because we have daily different work schedules.
“We are also doing some access culverts in about two locations; we tackle different work items in the contract at the same time.
“We are doing the drains; we are working from the end of the project at Cele Bus Stop, from the beginning at Beach Land.
“We are also working in the Mile 2 area; we are working in Sanya; so, we are working in different sections,’’ she said.
She explained that milling, stone base laying, construction of drainage channels, asphalting, grading, sand cement stabilisation and other works were going on concurrently.
She added that the work would continue in such a manner on both bounds.
Aniagoh, however, regretted that indiscriminate parking of articulated vehicles on the highway slowed down progress of work and caused heavy  traffic.
She noted that the vehicles were waiting to carry petroleum products from Apapa. (NAN)

Speaking about the often discussed and rumoured affairs with actresses, he said they happen by mutual agreement, Nigeriafilms reports.
"If I like you, if you agree, fine; if you don’t, I let you be. If you want a favour from me and you give yourself to me, I won’t reject it. It’s a normal thing and it takes the consent of both parties."
Bishop also touched upon the topic of gay relationships, which according to him have become rampant in the Nigerian movie industry.
The actor shared how he once was harassed by a male:
"I have once had an experience with an actor who is now a producer. He came up to me, told me he liked me, my physic and all that. After a while, he said he wanted to see the size of my manhood. I said for what. I thought he was joking, but subsequently, when we hang out or go for shooting, he would try to touch me in a romantic way. So I warned him and it ended."
It would be recalled that , the law provides for harsh punishment for the violators, up to 14 years of jail.

Charly Boy Stormed Out Of Venue Of Justice Oputa's Lying-In-State

A renowned Nigerian performer, entertainer, publisher and producer Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, revealed why he had left the venue of his late father’s lying-in-state, without any warning.
Charly Boy and Father
* Late Justice Oputa and his son Charles
The ceremony in honour of , took place in the capital city of Imo State, Owerri, on Wednesday.
This move has stunned many people present, including Governor Rochas Okorocha, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Odigie Oyegun, members of state executive council and many others.
All the people were seated inside Owerri International Conference Centre, when Charly Boy suddenly walked out the venue. This move made many attendees speechless and with many questions in their minds.
Some people alleged that the Area Fada had walked out of the conference centre to attend a short-term personal issue, which required his presence outside the hall in person. But it was not considered as a true reason.
His Royal Punkness told his security, cameramen and aides inside the hall that he was done with the event, ordered them to follow him immediately.
According to Nigerian Tribune, Charly Boy made the decision when the service had nearly turned into some sort of a political rally.
The entertainer was far from being happy with this development.
Pro-Okorocha people and many APC supporters besieged the venue hours before the arrival of the state governor. They were dancing and singing as they awaited him.
Governor Okorocha came into the venue amid cheers from the people. In his speech, he eulogised the late Oputa, described him as a man of high integrity, who, until his death, did not compromise on what he stood for.
It the same time, Charly Boy, was angered by the fact that the lying-in-state was heading into the wrong direction, and was not about commemorating for his father, but more about politics.
Area Fada was also annoyed by the late arrival of Imo State Governor and his team to the venue. This caused a significant delay in the start of the event.
